Fiber Construction Foreman
Job Summary:
The Fiber Construction Foreman will oversee and coordinate various fiber construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Selects and oversees crews for specific needs such as boring or laying cable.
Supervises each crew to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
Trains and develops members of their team to achieve career mobility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides leadership on job sites by walking out project and directing crews to meet production goals.
Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budgets the time necessary to meet each deadline.
Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees, and directs activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned fiber networks, structures, facilities, and systems.
Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers, and the general public.
Ensures the Construction Manager has all necessary communication concerning production delays, safety incidents, or emergencies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with documenting any construction damage claims.
Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
Thorough understanding of engineering and other construction drawings.
Ability to provide leadership to a crew.
Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time including overnights.
Education and Experience:
At least five years of fiber construction experience preferred
OSHA 10 required
OSHA 30 preferred
Class A CDL License with Tankers Endorsement required
