Vaco Phoenix is looking for a fully remote Medical Coder for a top Healthcare client in Chicago, IL!

This Medical Coder Specialist must have 3 years of experience and hold a CCS Certification. This is a long-term contract-to-hire position, paying $36/hr to $40/hr depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Assign ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts with accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Abstract selected data items and enter them into 3M encoder/Epic software accurately.
3. Complete UHDDS data abstraction as required.
4. Maintain a log of work performed.
5. Perform other duties as directed by management.
6. Demonstrate competent attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to concentrate on tasks in an open, distracting environment and work independently, minimizing distractions in a private work-from-home space.
8. Apply local, state, and federal coding guidelines accurately.
