Account Executive - South at SUSE
Drive strategic growth for SUSE by managing a portfolio of key accounts within a specified territory or industry. The Account Executive is responsible for identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, deepening customer relationships, and aligning SUSEs value proposition with customer objectives. The role requires strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering high-value solutions that enhance customer success and drive market share. Success is measured by revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and effective navigation of large-scale account dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, including CXO-level executives. Build key relationships with Economic Buyer, Technical Buyer, Coach & Executive Buyer.
- Apply consultative-selling techniques to understand client goals, challenges, and ambitions related to mission-critical workloads and innovation. Serve as a trusted advisor by aligning SUSE offerings with client needs and delivering long-term value.
- Own professional development by staying curious and growing as a sales professional, deepening expertise in SUSE value proposition.
- Identify and capitalise on upselling and cross-selling opportunities by leveraging customer knowledge and SUSE capabilities.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to refine sales strategies.
- Maintain CRM hygiene by updating activity, opportunities, and deals to manage the sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and track performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing the sales process from initial contact through negotiation and closing, then handover to Customer Success for implementation and ongoing support.
- Partner with the SUSE ecosystem of partners to enhance and bundle solution offerings and extend business opportunities.
- Collaborate on Account Plans with Pre-Sales, Inside Sales, Partner Ecosystem, and Specialist Sales teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Identify and prioritise key accounts each quarter with strong potential for adopting SUSE products, setting milestones to maximise market-share opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in sales and account management with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Knowledge of the enterprise software industry, including Linux infrastructure, hybrid cloud, container management, edge, AI, and security.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex technical solutions clearly.
- Analytical skills to understand market trends and apply insights to sales strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative client solutions.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Clari) for pipeline management and forecasting.
- Ability to apply enterprise sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger); industry certifications are a plus.
- Understanding of Open Source and transformation topics (e.g., cloud-native development, cloud migration).
US Pay Transparency
If this role is filled in the United States, the starting base salary is expected to be between $104,000 and $191,000. In addition to the base salary, a commission plan and benefits package apply. Benefits include comprehensive medical, life and disability insurance, 401k, EAP, and generous paid time off and leave policies. Actual compensation is determined by factors such as experience, location, equity, and budget.
