The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization to patients seeking routine healthcare services and critical diagnostic insights. This role is responsible for advanced phlebotomy services, specimen processing, and delivering a high-quality patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, superior customer focus, and a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper specimen labeling
Explain procedures clearly while creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
Maintain required records and documentation
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office phlebotomy locations as required, often with minimal notice
Support training activities at varying locations based on trainer availability
Handle multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume setting
Required Experience
Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Keyboarding and data entry experience
Nice-to-Have Experience
Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment
Customer service experience in a retail or service setting
Required Skills
Advanced phlebotomy and specimen collection
Patient interaction and customer service excellence
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Central Time)
Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as business needs dictate
Additional Requirements
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
Strong judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (as applicable)
Ability to work across multiple locations with flexible hours
