Customer Service Parts/Woodworker Position

Leisure Time Products, LLC is looking to fill seven (7) Customer Service Parts/Woodworker positions from March 14, 2026, to September 1. This is for temporary, full-time peakload employment. Duties include:

  • Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Produce or assemble components of articles, such as store fixtures, office equipment, cabinets, or high-grade furniture.
  • Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality product.
  • Set up or operate machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, or shapers, to cut, mold, or shape Woodstock or wood substitutes.
  • Establish the specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired, or plan the methods or operations for shaping or assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral or written instructions.
  • Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.
  • Reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing.
  • Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools.
  • Trim, sand, or scrape surfaces or joints to prepare articles for finishing.
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood.
  • Cut timber to the right size and shape and trim parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Perform final touch-ups with sandpaper or steel wool.
  • Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines.
  • Repair or alter wooden furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, paneling, or other pieces.
  • Estimate the amounts, @types, or costs of needed materials.
  • Dip, brush, or spray assembled articles with protective or decorative finishes, such as stain, varnish, paint, or lacquer.
  • Draw up detailed specifications and discuss projects with customers.
  • Design furniture, using computer-aided drawing programs.
  • Apply Masonite, formica, or vinyl surfacing materials.
  • Program computers to operate machinery.

Requirements: High School/GED is required. 12 months experience in woodworking is required.

Required special skills/certifications: Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a 10-hour work period, stand for long periods, Ability to carry and lift boxes while reaching, bending, climbing, walking/standing to move product through the plant. Must be able to work in hot temperatures. Must be able to work in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Must be able to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. During the busy season, Fridays and Saturdays work may be required, following the same schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Workers will be paid no less than $20.02 per hour, based on experience. Overtime is available as needed up to 20 hours a week at $30.03 per hour and based on the hourly rate. Work will be performed from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the busy season, Fridays and Saturdays work may be required, following the same hours of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At least 40 hours per week. Job opportunity is temporary, full-time position. The requested temporary workers will be based at 3305 Airport Drive, Pittsburg KS 66762 including the county of Crawford, in the Kansas Nonmetropolitan Area. Employer will provide transportation to and from all worksites.

Housing is provided by employer. The housing options that may be offered depending on availability include: 3 beds, 1 bath at a rate of $720.00 monthly; 3 beds, 1 bath- 800 sqft at a rate of $750.00 monthly; 3 beds, 2 baths- 1280 sqft: at a rate of $815.00 monthly; 3 beds, 2 baths-1008 sqft at a rate of $950.00 monthly. These prices would be divided by each worker. Housing is subject to availability and optional to workers. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker reasonable costs for return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved.
