High School diploma or equivalent
Must Pass Fingerprint Check
Must Pass Physical Capabilities Test
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Computer skills
Knowledge of numerical and alphabetical arrangement of library books in a library
Good organizational skills
ServSafe certification course required within first year of hire
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
Ability to handle cash and make change accurately
Ability to use computer and use pertinent software applications
JOB SUMMARY
The Library Aide works with the librarian, assisting with day to day operations of the library. The purpose of the Cafeteria Cashier is to maintain complete and accurate student lunch records and accounts.
REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Library Aide/Lunch Aide will include, but are not limited to the following:
Process new materials for shelving.
Check books and materials in and out to classes.
Shelve books.
Gather resources for staff.
Keep the library open for classes to use for research as needed.
Read to groups of students, as needed.
Repair books as needed.
Assist in keeping the library climate attractive and inviting.
Collect lunch payments and prepares daily deposits.
Accurately enters students/staff through the computer at lunch and breakfast.
Accurately counts money and assists with or prepares the daily deposit.
Maintain security of confidential information of student accounts.
Send notices to parents in a timely manner concerning lunch account status.
Prepare documentation of sales transactions (i.e. daily cash receipts, records; breakfast and lunch counts, etc.).
Reconcile cash and credit receipts to meal counts.
Respond to inquiries of students, staff and the public regarding the type and/or cost of meals and food items, account balances, etc.
Appropriately supervise students before, during and after the school day, as needed.
Models positive behavior for students (i.e. inter-personal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.
Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
Adhere to good safety practices.
Ability to understand and adhere to all District rules, regulations and policies.
All other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
stand, walk, sit and talk/hear;
occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
occasionally push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs; and
be able to see, including close, distance and depth perception.
