Tax Analyst (Sales & Use / Property Tax)
50% Remote | Long-term / Ongoing
MUST LIVE IN THE HOUSTON AREA
Growth path built in: Tax Analyst to Senior Tax Analyst
This is a great role for someone who likes numbers and systems, the kind of person who enjoys reconciling accounts, spotting inconsistencies, and then asking, "Why are we still doing this manually?"
iSphere is looking for a Tax Analyst who wants to grow deeper into Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax, while also leaning into the tech side of tax. You'll support compliance and reporting, but just as importantly, you'll help improve how tax work gets done through better tracking, cleaner data, and smarter use of tools.
The role is hybrid (about 50% remote), but you must live in the Houston area to collaborate onsite as needed.
What you'll be doing (in plain English)
You'll help keep tax filings accurate and on time, support reconciliations (there's a meaningful reconciliation component here), and maintain the data behind exemptions, licenses, and property tax filings. A lot of your time will be spent in Excel and internal systems. There you'll be building reports, analyzing variances, and making sure tax data ties out cleanly.
You'll also get exposure to registrations in new jurisdictions, tax-related journal entries, and process documentation. Over time, this role naturally evolves toward becoming more of a tax technologist; someone who understands both the rules and the systems that support them.
