Deli Employee

The Deli Employee is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving deli menu items including pizzas, subs, sandwiches, and appetizers. This role ensures all food is prepared to company standards, kept fully stocked, and served in a clean, safe, and efficient environment. The Deli Employee supports overall store operations by maintaining product quality, food safety, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook deli items such as pizzas, subs, sandwiches, and appetizers according to Pete's recipes and standards.
• Ensure all hot and cold food is stocked, fresh, and available at all times throughout the shift.
• Follow proper food-safety procedures including cooking temperatures, holding times, labeling, and rotation.
• Maintain a clean and organized deli area, including equipment, prep stations, and storage areas.
• Monitor product levels and complete prep work as needed to meet customer demand.
• Operate deli equipment safely (ovens, warmers, slicers, etc.) and report any maintenance issues.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service when interacting with guests.
• Assist with inventory counts, waste tracking, and daily production logs.
• Support opening, closing, and shift-change procedures as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with store leadership to meet labor, waste, and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking or food-service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food-safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
• Ability to work in hot environments (ovens, warmers).
